Honoured and humbled by the Support

Organising a Chess tournament is a mammoth job, with so many factors at work, and so many people working their soul out to make it a success. But everything starts with the support from sponsors and organisations who play the stellar role in making the event possible itself. We are honoured and humbled that our 3rd International Open tournament has been possible only with the generous and unflinching support of our benefactors.

First and foremost, we are honoured with the faith shown by the Life Insurance Corporation of India, the corporate giant, for being the Title Sponsor of our event. We have a host of other sponsors who have enabled us to provide with an international class for the chess players who  participate in this tournament, and we are grateful to all of them.

This event has been possible only with the support of the Government of West Bengal, especially the dynamic Chief Minister of the state and our beloved ‘Didi’, honourable Mamata Banerjee and the Minister for Sports, Arup Biswas. The Government of West Bengal has prided itself being a protective patron of art and sports, and it is no wonder that it has resulted in a congenial atmosphere for a multitude of sports events in the city of Kolkata.

We wish to express our deep gratitude to our honourable Chief Minister and Sports Minister Mr.Aroop Biswas who have been a pillar of support for all the sports, and Chess in particular. Our 3rd Annual International Open Chess tournament would not have been possible without the support of our state government, and Dibyendu Barua Chess Academy and AllSport Foundation are deeply indebted to them.
